A premier regional park system for Southeast Michigan with 13 individual properties, nearly 25,000 acres of woods, water, and recreational facilities providing a natural oasis for more than 7 million visitors a year. Education is an important part of their mission and they have three mobile learning centers and 10 full-service interpretive centers focused on nature, history and farming that engage more than 1.5 million individuals with programs about the environment, science, nature, geography and regional history.
MSU Extension helps people improve their lives through an educational process that brings the vast knowledge and resources of Michigan State University to local communities in southeast Michigan. From cultivating sustainable agriculture to improving the health of families and nurturing the potential of our youth through 4-H programs, over 15,000 Oakland County residents annual participate in MSU Extension Programming. including plants, pottery, and garden decor.
Dedicated to promoting sound environmental stewardship in Oakland County by providing residents with reliable information and technical assistance regarding the management and use of our natural resources helps you make conservation possible in your own backyard. We offer classes, community outreach, tree and native plant sales, presence at the Oakland County Farmer' Market, and a Backyard Habitat Certification course.
Creates and operates accessible, welcoming and sustainable parks and public spaces, provides recreational and educational programs and opportunities, preserves open space and stewards the environment to help all people be healthier and build resilient, connected communities in Oakland County. They offer free native plant kits every year.
RainSmart Rebates is two-year (2024-2025) residential pilot program geared towards homeowners in the George W. Kuhn Drain Drainage District. The pilot offers homeowners up to $2,000 for implementing sustainable stormwater practices such as tree planting, rain barrel installation, or creating a rain garden on their properties. The primary goals of the program include fostering awareness about stormwater management and promoting environmental stewardship.

A coalition of 13 organizations working to purchase and preserve 440 acres of rare lakeplain prairie, woods, and wetlands in the heart of Wayne County, 15 miles from downtown Detroit. Home to 15 endangered, threatened, and of concern plants and animals, nearly 200 native plant species, grassland and migratory birds, seven of Michigan's nine bat species, countless pollinators and other insects. Also offering nature as medicine for people and performing key ecosystem services for people.

Since 1934, we have been helping beekeepers with their hobby. Our purpose:
- To help disseminate the latest information and improved methods of beekeeping.
- To promote fellowship and cooperation among beekeepers.
- To cultivate a friendly relationship between honey producers and consumers.
- To assist, whenever possible, the Michigan Beekeepers' Association, the Michigan Department of Agriculture, the Michigan State University Department of Entomology, and other local, state and national beekeeping organizations.

Our group serves Metro Detroit and includes the counties of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and St. Clair. Powered by dedicated volunteers, we host educational programs, outings, conservation initiatives, and community meetings focused on pressing environmental issues that impact well-being and family health. Passionate people dedicated to saving our native pollinators by restoring their natural habitats in home landscapes and gardens. Having successfully partnered with the City of Rochester to install five native habitats, a 13-acre public park with a restored prairie remnant, and milkweeds and native flowers in city bumpouts on Main Street, they spread their love for native plants and help other towns restore their habitats too.
We serve those in Oakland County, Michigan, and the surrounding area who are interested in native plants. Our goal is to educate and promote the benefit and use of Michigan native plants, which we do by bringing in local speakers and organizing field trips to nearby locations, including parks and members’ homes

Abyssinian Designs is a small-scale, local business based in Warren, Michigan. Founded and operated by two women, the company focuses on creating artistic, custom creations designed to "bring art and joy to the world".
My business is handmade, glass beads and jewelry. Every piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. I am a self-taught lampworker and I have been melting glass for 3 years.
My business is Faye Soli Collage. I am operating as an insured and county/treasury-registered sole proprietor.
I am an independent manual collage artist repurposing mass media to encapsulate nostalgia, trauma, interpersonal nuance, the body, queerness and the present political landscape. My focus is weighted on vintage imagery and patterns. I work both in thematic and surreal capacities, often creating works with the impact of loose memories. Succinctly, I describe my work as "textures and dreamscapes."
I currently offer matboard-mounted 8x10 giclée prints ($45), 5x7 window mats ($4), 5x7 giclée prints ($20), 3.5" pins ($11), mini prints with handmade note cards ($5), magnets ($8) and handmade bookmarks ($14). By the time of the event I may also include DIY collage kits, life-permitting (price undetermined). All of my goods are individually packaged on handmade (stamped and/or painted) backboards, ensuring they both withstand travel/public hands as well as appear gift-ready.

At the heart of our business is an unwavering obsession with native plants, and their numerous benefits to the ecosystems of the Great Lakes State that we call home.
We officially opened our doors to the public in 2024, after our founder, Adam, fell victim to corporate downsizing. Armed with a business degree and some hand collected seeds, he set out to follow his true passion for growing native plants, with the focused intent of making them more easily accessible to the public. It was this desire to make natives 'mainstream', that drove the creation of one of, if not the only, fully retail native plant nursery in the state. This model of standard open door hours has facilitated browsing, chatting, and enjoying the plants presence, creating a unique oasis for native plant enthusiasts and newcomers alike. No barriers to entry, no minimum purchase requirements, no appointments, no single use plastics, and no overpotted and overpriced native plants is our commitment to you! Since that first season we've installed over 120 native plant gardens, cleared numerous acres of invasive species, and grown over 80,000 native plants that have put down their roots in SE Michigan soils.
In 2026 our crew of native plant nerds has grown from 1 to 5 and we continue to search for new methods of growing, selling, and communicating the wonderful aspects of planting native!
We live here, collect our seeds here, and volunteer our time and resources here, because we love this state and the natural treasures we're so fortunate to enjoy.

They are proud to have current inventory at The Artsy Umbrella in Berkley and The Nest in Mount Clemens and thankful for the opportunities they have had at other stores as well. They also enjoy selling at local events such as the Berkley Art Bash, Made in the Mitten Festival, farmers markets, indoor craft shows, etc. In the Summer of 2025, they were awarded BEST overall kid entrepreneur business. In Summer of 2026, they were awarded Best Sales Pitch.
